What others say about

Heart In Motion

Elysha's E-books are companions to me. I read them slowly a few pages only per day. It is a meditation and it is a visit with a friend. I am not looking for results, but I cannot help but notice change. A change is taking place and it seems rapid. Yes it does creep up on you as if from behind, but you notice it suddenly yet quietly as though it has always been there. You notice that you have something you didn't have before. It is suddenly available when you want it and you do want it. You love it. It is a flowering that will not be rushed so you learn how to look. Sometimes it's not there but you know it is and just knowing that it is, is also it. I presume this is awakening into what is called "enlightenment". Of course, I give thought to where this may lead, but it is also true that what I have right now is a treasure.

I came across Elysha’s website and ordered his books and meditation CD’s. Whilst I avoided doing the meditations, I read the book “Heart in Motion” with relish. For the first time I felt I could see what was being pointed to and that I could be drawn into the heart.

I was planning a trip and included visiting Elysha in my schedule. Upon meeting Elysha I was immediately attracted to his teaching through the clarity and passion that he shared. I knew I had found somebody who could draw me into my true nature and help me find the love and freedom I was after.

I found your website just over 3 weeks ago. I drank in your message, bought all the books and devoured them, listened to the YouTube messages, and purchased your meditation CDs. It is what I have hungered for... so simple... so astonishing. Thank you. I am listening to the meditation CD twice a day and also using Julie's technique. I find I am relaxing into myself.... something I have never really done. I work on a moment by moment basis... failing and remembering all the time. The realization that hit me was so obvious... so enlightening... incredible. A lightning bolt hit my head and pierced my heart... deep into my soul. I continue to feel the sear of that lightning bolt. I am beginning to live it... always what I sought... just didn't realize it was right where I stand. I am eternally grateful, and grateful that I found your message.

PART ONE

This One Or That One

It requires an immense amount of energy and honesty on your part to live so freely as to not perpetuate the activity that enshrouds all that is. To live as freely as this you will be called upon to look at everything, every single activity, emotion, feeling, and thing, as it is and not as you think that it should or could be.

There is a tremendous freedom involved; an incredible explosion of creativity when you stop feeding this false activity of this “me” of your mind.

You have become so familiar with this “me” of your mind that you believe it to be true of you, even to the point of not questioning whether it is real or not. In this moment right now you are already inherently free. In this moment you are completely at one with life, in communion with life and all that life is. This is not in some philosophical or idealistic sense, but actually, factually, and without any doubt whatsoever.

The marriage of life is the conscious union of you to that which you truly are. You do not need to become that which you already are and you are not required to search for it. You are already that to begin with.

There is nothing to add to yourself to become what you are. You are already free - in total and complete communion with the living energy of life or god. You can never leave it because this is who and what you truly are, right now in this very moment and forever, to infinity. You are not a separated person. However, you do a very good job pretending that you are, as if you believe that you are something other than what is already true of you.

You can dismiss what is being said here as being a load of nonsense or you can agree that there may just be something in it. Either way you will immediately go to the same place you always go to make a judgment. That place is where you go before you lift a hand to start the new day; before you even get out of bed. Your entire movement into life is consistently made through this seat of judgment.

You live your life through this decision-making process and not through the simplicity of life itself. You don’t see life just as it is in its own simplicity and there is a cost in this action. You live your life with a struggle and complication that does not exist in reality. You also miss out on the simple beauty, wonder, and enjoyment of life itself, which is who you are.

To feel the trueness of this simple message is one thing, but it is another matter entirely to feel it deeply enough for it to move you to alter where you place your attention. It is not enough to nod in agreement and then to carry on living from the same place that you gravitate to by tendency.

It is a wonderful thing that your heart can respond in feeling to what is true, bypassing your head’s obstructions in some moments. Whenever this happens to you, you are called upon by your own heart, to do something about it.

It is not often that you take the time to consider yourself and what you are actually about. Even when you do give some time to investigating what you are up to, you do not consider it seriously enough or stop long enough for it to make the immediate difference in your life that it could.

This consideration is usually only given when you feel betrayed by life's circumstances. You then look for a way to escape your discomfort. You may wonder why your life is not as pleasant as you had hoped for and whether there is a loving god out there at all.

* Have you ever noticed that belief and philosophies are not really much help when you are in the midst of suffering?

Stories of previous lives, or how your life has been for a special purpose, will tend to hold interest to the mind. Waiting upon an enlightenment that will relieve the responsibility of being accountable for thoughts and actions, is just one of the many tricks of the chattering mind to keep you distracted from realising what is already true of you.

You have believed in this idea that you are separated out from the living one.

You are already the very thing that you are looking for and it is closer to you than the nose on your face. It is so obvious once you recognize it. Recognition of this is inevitable simply because it is what you are already. The only problem you are suffering is your refusal to take the responsibility for bringing your attention to being what is already true of you. You keep choosing to live a falsehood, and you suffer the pain and misery of this accordingly.

Life is. It has always been and will always be. In your natural state you are totally in communion and at one with this same life. You are the rightful heir of all that is love and freedom. If this were not so, you would not be here.

Since you are not consciously living in this true state of free being, you must be doing something that is obstructing the free-flow of this energy of life through you. You must be engaging in some activity that inhibits the obvious feeling of this oneness that is true of who and what you are in this very moment right now. If you were presently being this one that is true of you right now, you would be delighting in the contentedness of its freedom.

The inherent beauty, wonder, and joyfulness of the living one is your birthright. You have always been this one. Before the body that was born and that you drive around in, this one was, and is. You are to see your current activity of falsity and to make your next step and movement into life as being one of truth; one of being who you truly are.

Your connection to life was never designed to be lived through the mind. Your mind is a very feeling part of your mind-body and is designed to feel through to infinity. Your mind, when in its rightful place, will not seek to be in control of anything. It will just naturally govern the body. Your mind as you know it, however, tries to keep everything under control. It does this from one moment to the next, without your conscious recognition. This is the chattering mind, the part you identify with as if it was you.

Your connection to life is felt in a completely different area of your mind-body. This area of your mind-body is your bridge to god; your connection to the living energy of life; your union with that which is; your marriage to life. It is the seat of feeling, even when you think that you cannot or are not feeling. It is this area of your mind-body that is alive as feeling and is your connection to the universe and all that is in it.

Take some time to sit quietly with each of the following questions. Simply breathing naturally and feeling whatever arises.

* What is going on that inhibits you from feeling through to infinity in this very moment right now? (Not the moment that has just gone by, or the one that is yet to come, but this moment).

* What is it that prevents you from feeling right now in this moment?

* What is it that obstructs your vision of who and what you truly are in this very moment right now?

It is not necessary to look for reasons from outside of yourself to see why you act in the ways that you do or to lay blame for your behaviour.

* Where in your mind-body do you simply feel happy without any particular reasons from outside of yourself?

* Where are you fundamentally happy and if you really allowed yourself to feel it, ecstatic?

* Where is it that this feeling bubbles from when you focus your attention on it, even if only for a second?

* And after that moment has passed, what stops you from feeling that simplicity and happiness in the following moments?

* Did you see that when you focus your attention fully into this moment right now, your connection to life comes alive?

* Did you see that it frees you with its stillness, and that all else dissolves or fails in its importance?

* Where can you place your attention so that you are relieved of the details of all of your problems and enjoy the beauty of simply being?

* Is it possible that you actually prefer to be unhappy and caught up in the drama of your personal life and of the world with all of its unlove, discord, and disharmony?

Any answer to this last question is no answer at all. The answer to this question is in an action of being real, of coming to the trueness of who you are right now.

The state of the world is only a reflection of what is currently going on inside of you. There is not a single thing that is separate from the living energy and reality of life. Not a thing. Nothing!

There is no need to try to save the world because the creator of this reflection is the same one who will try to clean it up. Just as night follows day, there will only be more of the same left behind in the wake of the ones who will attempt to set things right.

* Is there nothing to be done then?

Of course there is. You can focus your attention in this moment right now. However, you are likely to avoid doing it, as you have avoided doing it before now. You have been called to this responsibility all through the ages and all through the ages you have avoided this.

* So what is it that is going to make you more inclined to get on with it now?

It needs to be you that takes responsibility for where you focus your attention in any given moment, not you thinking that the person standing next to you should be doing it. And you can be responsible for where you focus your attention, in this moment right now.

Not too far down inside of you, you already know that there is no one else to blame for your life circumstances. To be in touch with that in your own case releases you from blaming anyone else for the way it is. This frees you up to give more attention to this presently arising moment right now.

It has nothing to do with belief of any kind. All the little sayings like, “it is my karma” or “I’m reaping what I have sown”, are just more of the endless tricks of your mind superimposing itself over the top of life. You listen to excuses like this, instead of giving your total attention to this moment right now and communing with life as it is.

* Can you just simply be happy? (The happiness referred to here is not what you have interpreted to be happiness in the past, but the simple freedom and peace of attuning your attention to this moment.)

* Can you be plain old happy right now without requiring your life to be reorganized?

* Can you be happy even while there are tears being shed over the loss or passing away of something or someone very dear to you?

These questions can never be answered hypothetically, using the calculating mind.

On the one hand, you have this part of your mind-body that is in feeling communion with the living energy of life, flowing freely without any obstruction whatsoever. On the other hand, you have this activity that you continue believing to be true of you, without any awareness of it even going on. All it has ever accomplished for you is pain and misery, emptiness and unfulfilled promises.

The absurdity of this matter is that one of these activities keeps promising what the other simply and already is. The one doing all of the promising cannot deliver, because it has not got the capacity to do so. It is the very thing that obstructs and prohibits what it keeps promising you. All the while, you keep on believing it, as if it were going to deliver. You do not even stop long enough to see that you are running around trying to catch your own tail. This is how it perpetuates its own motion and you keep reaching out for more, apparently endlessly, with no time to stop.

Our history makes a very loud statement of this failure to be who we truly are. History paints a graphic picture of the atrocious and barbaric behaviour that this belief in the false has created. The good news though, paradoxical and stupid as it may seem; is that you are already the freedom, happiness, and love that you keep searching for. It is already the case. You are already it.

For you to shine as the love-bliss that is already true of you, a cessation of a false activity is required of you right now. It is only in the giving of your full attention in this very moment right now that you will shine as the very being that you are.

Take some time to feel into the following:

* In this moment you are fully loved and loving.

* In this moment you rest as freedom itself and are simply happy, as life personified.

In times past, Buddhist monks would go into meditative retreats to contemplate their existence. They would try to find the meaning of life and to transcend it into enlightenment. Some of these monks created meditative techniques to still their minds. This was an attempt to escape the misery and drama that they had come to realise was created through believing in, and the attachment to, the thoughts passing through their minds. To come to these realisations took a great deal of insight, which would have come about through intensive study and through following the precepts that had been laid down by those who had awakened before them.

As they would sit and meditate these ones came to realise that thoughts came and went like the clouds across the sky. They would sometimes feel that their true nature was more like the sky itself; the infinite backdrop of blueness that never ended and never changed. They perceived their thoughts to be like the clouds that floated across that infinite sky. Sometimes there was no feeling of the infinite sky as the clouds were so thick and vast that they obscured the sky from one horizon to the other. At other times there would be some breakage of the cloud where snatches of the blue sky was seen and felt. Occasionally there would be times when there were no clouds floating across at all, or thoughts would come and go - some good and some not so good.

As these monks came to feel this in their own case they would experience highs from personal insights and realisations. They would also try to only have good or positive thought and would try to avoid the negative thought - a bit like the positive thinkers of today's new age set.

Whilst they were in their retreat undisturbed by outside influence, there was a certain amount of success in their venture. Their sincere attention to this matter would bring them into feeling contact so that they actually experienced the infinite sky. These feeling glimpses would only be momentary however, whetting their appetite for more of the same.

Soon enough the retreat would end and they would have to enter the land of the living once again. During the course of their activities in the world their state of equilibrium, so painstakingly gained through the course of the retreat, would eventually be chipped and chiselled away. This was because of the mind having to be engaged again to get the daily chores done.

Some of those who chose the lifestyle of renunciation were only using it as a means of living and not an attempt to awaken. But the serious ones were real heroes; they were very sincere in their effort to awaken out of the illusion of the pain and suffering that they found to be the average way of living.

This matter is no different today to any of the other times that have gone on before now. Sincerity and honesty are the keys required for there to be any true evolution in our personal lives, or any consequent reflection of this evolution in the world at large.

To be this honest with yourself demands an extraordinary amount of energy from you, but certainly no more than what is within your grasp right now in this moment. Please remember however, that you have been adept at avoiding doing this for a very long time already. Traditions, religions, philosophies, isms, beliefs, rituals, and today’s new-age spiritual circus have all evolved or been created out of the belief in the chattering mind. This alone is the great obstruction to your implicit and fundamental happiness.

* Can you wake up now in this very moment?

* Or is there a long drawn out and gradual process involved that demands lifetimes of struggle and effort, requiring an endless number of teachers - Jesus Christ, Buddha, Krishna, Lao Tzu, Nityananda, Osho, Krishnamurti, Free John, and Eckart Tolle?

* Can the very next step that you take into life be one of freedom?

* Are you required to undo all of your past deeds of negativity or tip the balance from negative to positive before you can even begin to awaken to that which is true of you?

* Are there half truths for you to unravel first and if so who is going to be the judge and jury of these half truths?

* In other words, are you even in a position to answer such questions?

All of these questions can only come from believing that you are separate from that which sustains you. Otherwise you would already be consciously living the obviousness of the living one right now in this very moment. This is where that which is, stands out as it is, and you understand because that is who you are also. All of this is without doubt or complication. You know who you are because you are consciously being this one.

It is your birthright to be completely in communion with the living energy of life. You are that, which has always been and will always be. It is before the body or mind ever came into play. This is who you are when you are not complicating the picture by overriding that obviousness with your belief. Namely, the belief that you are something other, separated from that which is.

You have the capacity to be living the enjoyment of a million watts of energy every moment. This, instead of the five or ten watts that dribbles through after you have watered the current of life down so much by this activity of pretending to be something that is less than who you are.

Left to your own devices you will keep living from the same place that you are at present. You have not seen your way past this illusion of your own creation. Even cooking dinner will have you forgetting who it is that you truly are.

The attention required to be that which is true of you, is your total attention in this moment right now. Your complete attention is not something that you would ordinarily give. The problem with not giving your full attention in this moment is that you are unconsciously perpetuating the mischief, pain, and suffering that currently exists in the world today. More personally, it results in the perpetuation of the pain and suffering that exists in your own life.

* Are you willing then, to put in the effort required to be happy as the one that you are right now in this moment?

* If you were to be suddenly shown in feeling what it is to be awake as this one, with its accompanying freedom, joyfulness, and beauty, then it would become your responsibility to live as that one, wouldn't it?

This does not mean that you are suddenly going to have an overbearing responsibility to save the world or others. It just means that you will be responsible for what you are up to in every moment. This is no different to the way it is anyway, except that you currently choose to not be present simply because it feels easier to be that way. The cost of that choice is the unlove and unhappiness that currently pervades your life and the planet.

The choice to not be responsible for where you put your attention cannot lead you to that which is true to yourself, to god, or to the living one.

Who you are cannot be given to you because you already are this. You have to consciously be it. The activity that you believe to be “you” is the one that waters the million watts down to the five or ten watts again. You cannot pour the ocean of who you are into the thimble of who you think you are and expect it to contain it.

You can be shown in feeling just who you are and you can be drawn into that place because that is what is true of you already. It can only be done by the living one itself. It is not a matter of someone outside of yourself giving you something that you do not already have, because you are this same one. You are no different from, and nor are you separate from, life itself. You are the heart.

You are already that which you seek, even when you do not think that you are seeking. If you allowed yourself to see it, you would see that you are always looking; constantly seeking for more. The details of the more that is sought will be different from person to person, although in truth, seeking is the same for everyone. Every person seeks their reality, their love.

From the mind informancy that you believe to be you, which is not who you are in reality, you constantly seek to be distracted from your pain. You would feel this pain intensely if you were to fully relax for a moment.

You already intuit that you are not truly happy; that you are capable of being a lot happier than you are at present. When you allow yourself to feel this potential happiness, it reminds you that you are not being true.

When you identify with the mind and what it says, this conclusion would be considered an affront. The mind will do everything in its power not to face this possibility; it will actively avoid it.

The mind cannot totally suppress this intuition however; the feeling that keeps slipping through, that you are not being that which is true of you, that you are not as happy as you know you could be. Your true nature is infinitely greater than your mind.

That which is true of you will always be true of you and it will never die. It never separates itself out from life. It cannot. It is life. It was never born and it will never die. On the other hand, that which is untrue can never become true. Therefore it can never outlast, suppress, or kill life, seen or unseen.

Your bridge to life can never be totally overridden by your belief in who you think you are, and that is very good news indeed. It means that your happiness is guaranteed. It is your destiny.

* Why would you want to keep suffering as if your happiness were not true of you in this moment right now?

Generally speaking, an individual’s life is made up of attempts to avoid pain, suffering, boredom, doubt, and discomfort; and the search for happiness, pleasure, love, and any other forms of gratification.

Occasionally there are moments when you succeed in having a good time, or when you enjoy yourself. On average though, you are too busy trying to avoid the pain and boredom.

* Have you noticed how you have been unable to shake off the pain and suffering that seem to constantly follow you around?

This belief that you have of being something other than what is simply arising in this moment right now, this belief that you are separate from all else, keeps promising you that tomorrow is going to get better. It promises that there is more enjoyment just around the corner, another million dollars to be made, that there is a better job to be had, or that there is a more exciting lover who is going to make you feel better about yourself. Or maybe it promises you that there are more spiritual insights to be attained.

This belief in something outside of you that will make you happy, keeps promising you more. Yet you very rarely attain what you were searching for.

* Have you ever seen that you never quite gain what is promised?

* Have you ever noticed that in times of horrendous upheaval in your life - for they are the only times that you are forced to stop and consider what is actually happening – you will willingly chase after the next idea that promises to relieve you of your pain?

Little wonder then, that there is no time available for being who you truly are.

You believe that you are an isolated pocket of existence, completely separated out from all the other separated pockets of existence that make up the rest of humanity. You do not see that that is precisely the way you are living.

You live as if you are an island, aloof and distant from all other islands.

If you focus your attention long enough on the surface level only, then you will unavoidably come to believe that that is all you are. Just like an iceberg in water, there is only a very minor portion of the whole poking above the surface. Fortunately, it is easy for you to discover what your true nature is.

The hidden parts of your make-up do not, and in fact cannot, be sparked into life by the activity of who you think you are. Only more mischief will be created by anything that is activated from the chattering mind.

No matter what you attempt to do; whether it is creating a haven under the sea; a haven on the Earth; a haven in outer space; or a haven in your inner space; you are destined to fail if you create this from your belief in who you think you are.

You are required to feel - not in any dramatised emotional sense, but to simply feel as the whole mind-body that you are.

* When are you required to feel?

Obviously not in the last moment or in the next moment. There is only one moment that exists in reality and that happens to coincide with the one that lives and breathes you. It is you. It is you right now in this very moment.

You are the very one that is looking and flowing through your eyes right now. You are not the body that you drive around in. You are not the mind that the thinking is happening through. You are the one that is looking through your eyes in this very moment right now.

* How do you see that?

There is no how; there is only the seeing and the being of this.

No amount of thinking, discussing, or desiring is going to bring you into this moment right now with your full and total attention. In every moment that you realise your true nature, this thinking, which is not true of you, loosens its bind on you.

With this connection you stand in the simplicity that is true of you, simply being the incarnation of the living one; as the physical fingers into this world of this one (which is what you are).

* Do you see that you can never think yourself into this actuality or trueness?

You will never be able to think your way into who you are.

You simply have to do it, and that demands your total attention in this moment right now. You need to be so total in your attention that it leaves no space for the falsity of who you think you are. With this, the deeply seated idea of yourself as a separated being dissolves of its own accord.

Then there is no one left behind to witness the event or to experience the event. Only the one is here; the living energy of life; your heart; your true nature.

There are not two or more things going on in this moment. There never was, and there never will be. The living god and the belief that you have of being this separated “I” or “me” of your mind, do not compete for the position of authority within the moment.

You can come into the feeling part of your mind-body where you feel into infinity, where you feel uncomplicatedly happy, where you know without doubt or thought that you are completely loved, lived, breathed, and totally cared for. This is your birthright, and more than that; this is who you really are in total communion with the one that has always been true of you.

It has never been any different. You have always been this one. You have only chosen to buy into the idea that you are something other, something less, which appears to be separate from this one. No matter how much you believe this, it will not change that which is already true of you; your heart.

It is a very good thing that this is so, because the one you believe to be you has not created a pleasant world for you to live in. It keeps telling you that the state of the world has nothing to do with you, but instead it has to do with all of those others out there. However, who you think you are, and others who think they are, have collectively created an abysmal mess. Fortunately, who you are; the heart; has moderated this mess by shining through it all. Who you are is always here beneath the surface appearance of life.

If the collective belief in who you think you are was left unchecked, it would have annihilated the whole of existence a long time ago.

This seat of judgment of yours, and where you continue to put all of your attention, makes the appearance of life into something other than what it truly is.

Take feeling for example: A feeling arises, and is felt in the mind-body. Then this seat of belief of yours decides whether it is a feeling that it would like or not. By this time the feeling is long past and no longer alive in this moment.

Your attention is then on a memory of this feeling (now in the past), and the chattering mind is interpreting this memory. It decides whether it likes or dislikes the feeling, and whether the feeling should be enjoyed or pushed away.

This belief in and attention to what the mind is saying has taken what is arising in life and has stepped in and covered the aliveness of it over with its own noise.

If the feeling is one that is desired then the mind will hang onto it and try to extend its life. If it is a feeling that is not desired then a great deal of effort will be spent in trying to push it away and to ignore it. In either case, the simplicity of the arising moment is missed. It is not fully participated in or communed with as it is.

Because of this belief in the chattering mind, you are always living in the past and the future, and never in the present. To live in the present requires you to be fully attentive to what is, right now. You can never be partially present.

To be present, demands total attention right now in this moment.

Nothing less than this full attention can do it. This has always been so.

Life is utterly free. It does not run according to the dictates of what you believe yourself to be. It cannot be dragged through that activity and remain free. It becomes something else when distorted through your sense of perception, and then fails to be the simplicity that it was originally.

So far you have mostly only experienced conflict and misery. In fact, you have become very skilled in self flagellation. So skilled in fact, that you do not see that you are doing this to yourself. One could be forgiven for thinking that mankind must be about ready to wake up from all of the self-punishment that it has put itself through.

You adamantly cling to this belief in the chattering mind out of fear and because of your belief that you are in control of life. These beliefs can appear to be just as endless as the living energy of life itself; your true nature.

The living one; who you are, is not about to remove your choice of where you put your focus of attention. It is not about to condemn you to having to be who you are.

* I mean to say, who would want to be the freedom and love that one already is?

However, the living one is not responsible for the pain that you suffer because of that choice.

Life (the living one, god, the living energy of life, the nameless one) waits with great pleasure for your return; for your marriage and reunion to itself. It does not wait in some far off future, but now, right now in this very moment.

Life waits for you to consciously reunite with where you originally started out from, albeit a long time ago. This one has waited with extraordinary patience; for forever and a day, and will continue to do so until you learn the only lesson involved in life.

* What lesson?

You may ask; you may well ask.

You are already free as the living one and totally cared for as that one as well. There is not a single thing missing, nor a hair upon your head that is unaccounted for. A great celebration is about to explode into full living colour, the moment you learn to bring your total attention into this moment right now.

This is the lesson to be learnt and lived.

The false is then seen as the false, and that which is, stands in all of its glory and wonder, drawing you into the same and shining brightly as the million watts flowing through to infinity. This pleasure of being, simply awaits your fullness of attention to enter the equation.

* So what prohibits you from being in communion with your own being, the living reality of existence, your true nature?

Your lack of attention, your simple lack of conscious attention.
