What is the Secret once and for all?
Millions of people have seen the DVD The Secret or at least heard about it. Many have come away with a new view point on life. Self-help gurus have been telling people “that you are what you think about” for years. Think and Grow Rich, one of the best books on the subject, has been around for over 70 years. The power of positive thinking has been a buzz word for hundreds of years. Millions of books, tapes, CDs, and DVDs have been produced on the subject, yet still 80% of the population on Earth lives in poverty, misery and frustration. Think of it as a new modern jet plane and you’re sitting in the cockpit and have no idea how to fly the plane.
You are frustrated and a little bit upset. You think positive, yet you are still broke or unfulfilled. What is this Law of Attraction anyway and how does it work? Or does it? You may be thinking, “I’ve been thinking about having more all my life and I’m still broke”. Or “I’ve been looking for true love all my life and all I get are these deadbeats who beat a path to my door”. Okay, “I’ve read all the books, saw all the DVDs, and listened to hours of CDs yet nothing changes. Where am I going wrong?”
The answer is simple. We have been buying a lie for the past 3000 years. Our concepts of Heaven and Hell, God and the Devil, are at the base of all our problems. These concepts were started by “religions” as a form of control. They have been indoctrinated into humanity when people were mostly illiterate and vulnerable. Religion, all religions started out to explain God, found out they couldn’t do it and reverted to making up a set of rules for their faithful to follow. If these rules were violated then “religion” conveniently had an ace in the hole. God will do the judging and the punishing. The treat of Hell became the sword that “religion” held over humanity’s head. The very vehicle that was supposed to teach us who we are, why we are here, and where we are going hasn’t the foggiest idea what the truth is!
“Religion” today has caused more wars, more shattered lives, more frustration and more pain than any other factor in history. Yes, I know this will upset a lot of people, and yes a lot of people have found comfort and stability in their religious beliefs, yet why are the majority of people on Earth still asking these 3 questions: Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? Let’s start with our sacred books, the Bible, supposedly the greatest book ever written. However, the Bible is the product of one man’s work or the compilation of a few at least. Emperor Constantine of Rome gathered all the high clergy at the time to a meeting in Nicene to compile writings to be placed into the Bible. He then alone, decided what went into the Bible and what was left out. Every major religion has their sacred scripts, most were written when the population thought the Earth was flat and the Sun revolved around the Earth. The Bible, the Koran, the Torah and many others talk of Love, peace, and the Golden Rule; yet to my knowledge, none of them address the three most important questions: Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?
